Sector Skills Agreement

The Sector Skills Agreement for the Eastern region has been developed from both national and regional consultations with social care employers, people who use services and carers, training providers and key regional partner

A Sector Skills Agreement is a broad strategy (with a series of associated agreements and action plans) for Skills for Care to work with employers and key partners to address the Skills and Development needs of the social care sector over the short, medium and long term.

The key national and regional SSA priorities for the social care sector have been identified as:

1.         Provide information about the social care workforce

2.         Provide support to employers with workforce planning

3.         To enable employer-led workforce development at national, regional and local levels

4.         To develop, maintain and embed National Occupational Standards (NOS) and a qualification framework

5.            To maintain the capacity of SfC to deliver its corporate/business objectives.

Skills for Care Eastern have signed off a number of agreements and action plans with employers and key partners across the region to ensure these priorities are addressed.
